EDEM09 award for ITC researchers
Two ITC researchers have picked up an award at a major European e-participation conference, EDEM09.
Peter Cruickshank and Dr Colin Smith received a Best Paper award for their work into why people take part in online political activities such as petitioning.
Both are researchers within the University's International Teledemocracy Centre (ITC).
They presented their paper 'Self-Efficacy as a Factor in Evaluation of e-Petitions' at the recent Conference on Electronic Democracy in Vienna.
Practitioners and researchers from across Europe and beyond attended the event, which was held at the University of Economics and Business Administration.
The paper is available from the ITC's Publications Page
At the eDem09 Conference, ITC's Senior Research Fellow, Ella Taylor-Smith, also co-hosted a workshop, with Ralf Lindner from Fraunhofer ISI, as part of the HUWY project: Social Networking Tools and Widgets to Promote or Expand eParticipation Initiatives.
