Peter Cruickshank speaks at European Parliament hosted event in Edinburgh on the European Citizens' Initiative (ECI)
Peter was invited to speak alongside the EU Ombudsman, the convener of the Scottish Parliament's Petition Committee, and Prof Jo Shaw, an expert on EU constitutional issues and citizenship.
He covered the EuroPetition project, comparison between an ECI and a petition - e.g. in terms of the need to validate identify, and the issues that are distinctive to an EU process like the ECI - such as language, the need for a federated process and the importance of privacy.
